Consultation has concluded
In the summer of 2021, the City completed pavement and microsurfacing improvements to portions of Columbia Street. These improvements stretch from 45th Street to Mill Plain Boulevard, and from Mill Plain Boulevard south to Columbia Way. The City also installed multiple safety features along the street for people who bike, walk or use mobility devices.
The City is evaluating the performance of these project elements using community feedback and data collection. Evaluation tools include surveys of residents and small business owners, and people walking, using a mobility device or biking on these streets, as well as traffic counts of driver speeds and volumes.
Next Steps
Final results from the evaluation will be published after the yearlong evaluation process in completed winter 2024. Results will be shared on this page and the City's website.
